Motorhome Parking in National Parks.
Note: The sizes of national parks mean that not all car parks within their areas will be owned by the National Park Authorities. Even where a sign bears the name of the national park this might just relate to the location rather than the ownership. If making enquiries about a specific car park, therefore, it is wise to establish ownership before doing so.
It is also worth bearing in mind that some NPA car parks are accessed by narrow, steep and winding roads which some drivers may find a challenge.
Links to the individual web sites of all UK National Parks (which include motorhome parking information) can be accessed via This Web Site.
Motorhome Parking at Water Company Tourist Sites.
Note: Opening times (and size/accessibility) are restricted at some sites so it is worth checking first before setting out. It is also worth bearing in mind that some water company car parks are accessed by narrow, steep and winding roads which some drivers may find a challenge.
In some cases, motorhome parking has had to be restricted as a response to abuse by people camping illegally (e.g. using toilet blocks on car parks to empty sanitary tanks as well as problems with litter).
The information provided by the various companies varies but all web sites contain contact details.
Water company web sites: Anglian Water; Bristol Water; Northumbrian Water; Severn Trent Water; South East Water; South Staffs Water; South West Lakes Trust; Southern Water; Thames Water; United Utilities; Welsh Water; Wessex Water; Yorkshire Water.
